Lake Eyre Floods 2004

It's a rare event, that floods reach Lake Eyre . Due heavy rains in Queensland the flood waters of Diamantina River, Warburton Creek and Coopers Creek reached Lake Eyre in March 2004 and started to fill up the salty pan of Lake Eyre, the largest salt pan in the world.

This "spectacle" happend in the most remote area of South Australia and the Water could only be seen from the air and The Lake appears dry from any public viewing point.

I was visting William Creek in March 2004 and was lucky to get the chance to see the flood from the air. Some photos are been shown on this site.
